August Hazmat Shipper Workshops in Atlanta, Charlotte, Orlando, and more!

Posted on 7/19/2016 by Roger Marks

To help shippers protect personnel and maintain full compliance with the latest hazmat transportation regulations, Lion will present the Complete Multimodal Hazmat Shipper Certification Workshops in southeast US cities starting next week. US DOT requires all hazmat employees to complete training within 90 days of hire, and repeat hazmat training once every 3 years.

As 2017 approaches, shippers face changing 49 CFR hazmat regulations—including major updates finalized by PHMSA last month. In addition, PHMSA has now raised its penalties for hazmat shipping violations, from $75,000 per day, per violation to $77,114 per day, per violation.

Failure to provide hazmat training for employee is now punishable by a $463 fine per employee, per day.

Led by an expert, full-time Lion instructor, the two-day 49 CFR (DOT ground) hazmat shipper workshop, Hazmat Ground Shipper Certification (DOT), will be presented in the southeast in July and August:

July 27-28 Charlotte, NC

August 1-2 Orlando, FL

August 2-3 Atlanta, GA

August 8-9 Nashville, TN

August 15-16 Mobile, AL

August 15-16 Jacksonville, FL
